Imy b/f went to Dr s today and was diagnosed with dehydration. He had a fevor all day and it climbed to 102.4. While he was at the Dr s office they gave him a shot for nashua. Although he didnt throw up he did feel nausiated. The Dr perscribed Ondansetron. His fevor broke tonight finally at 9ish and was sweating. I took his temp then and it was 97.7. Long story short my ? is They also perscribed Selameth/Trimethoprim 800/160 and the label says to take it twice a day. I gave him the 1st dose at aqbout 2pm today, but I dont know what this medication is for and I dont know if I can give it to him again tonight before the 12 hour time. I cant find the bag it came in with the description of the med. I need to know what this med is for and can I give him the other one now... Can you help me
Hi, This medicine is an antibiotic like Bactrim and is given for some GI infection. You can give this medicine after 9-10 hours. Tablet Ondem you can repeat if required. Give him plenty of water, electrolyte and ORS liquids. Ok and take care.
