What Is The Treatment For Dizziness, Slurred Speech And High BP In Aged Women?

i have an aged care resident who was reduced from 600mg of gabapentin to 300mg on thurs 30/1. she is a highly anxious women, obese, full sling lift. at 1630 she wanted to lie down because she felt dizzy, speech was slightly slow slurring. BP was 250/70 p60 no temp BGL 7.3. now talking coherently and normal feeling slightly better BP now 10/95 had 5mg endone at 1140 for splitting headache. no GP available - rural area, do I monitor or send off to hospital. she is for resus

Hi there, apparently she had an important side effect to endone, which is powerful in elderly. It may make them talk incoherently, feel dizzy and cause BP disregulation. Consider having eye on her on the following day, avoid giving endone , I suggest ibuprofen 600mg bid or diclofenac 75mg bid, for headache if it persits. Monitor her Bp as well because maybe she is hipertensive and that's the source of her headache.
