What Is The Treatment For Ear Bleeding ?

I thought of cleaning my ears as they were itching.
I cleaned them using a cotton bud.
I did not rub too hard.
There was no dirt, instead I saw blood on the bud.
It looks like fresh blood.
I took an other cotton bud and tried, and again it showed blood on it.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have ear bleeding after using cotton bud which could be due to ear infection, inflammation of middle ear and due to accumulation of fluids and wax. Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin you are not allergic to it along with Ibuprofen and Loratadine. Put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. For now take benadryl twice a day a, keep your ear dry and apply warm compresses to external ear. You should take proper rest. If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Doctor will examine with otoscope and order CT scan .Get all the lab tests done for proper examination. Try to avoid excessive use of mobile as it will put more pressure.
