Hi,

Erectile dysfunction is the inability to keep an erection hard enough to have sexual intercourse. Erectile dysfunction may result from some underlying causes such as psychological causes like anxiety, stress etc., DM, HTN, high cholesterol, obesity, erratic lifestyle, smoking, alcohol consumption, injuries to nerve, lack of proper blood supply to the penis due to any cause etc.

Lifestyle modification, exercising regularly, avoid smoking, alcohol consumption etc, taking balanced diet regularly, proper sleep, weight reduction, avoid taking trans fat, anxiety and stress management, taking some multivitamins and multi nutrients like vitamin C, D, E, B-Complex, folic acid, zinc, omega-3 fatty acids etc may help to improve erectile dysfunction.

Studies have found that the average desirable duration of sexual intercourse is 7-13 minutes. Duration depends on some factors like premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, performance anxiety. Some investigations like S. testosterone, pelvic ultrasound or MRI, RBS, thyroid function test etc may help to find out the underlying causes for erectile dysfunction.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
