I got diagnosed with a external hemorrhoid about a month ago and I have had this for over 2 years, I got proctofoam and now my tailbone has a bruised feeling and its itching and burning around the hemorrhoid also some discharge but was not sure if that was the foam coming out. Not sure if it is anal cancer. Other then that I eat just fine not tired or sick feeling.
Hi. As per your case-history you are having either irritant dermatitis on tail-bone or a fungal infection. Irritant dermatitis maybe caused either by discharge from haemorrhoids or use of proctofoam. Fungal infection can be caused due to sweat and hydrocortisone present in proctofoam.
My treatment advice- 1. Stop using proctofoam as it may worsen the bruising on skin. 2. Apply a combination of mild topical steroid and anti-fungal like Candid-b cream twice daily. 3. If condition persists oral anti-biotics and oral anti-fungals may be considered. Thanks. Dr.Harshit Bhachech MBBS,DDVL
