What Is The Treatment For Fever Of 103 To 4 Year Old?

My four year old daughter has a fever of 103.4, I'm wondering if I should give her meds to bring it down or just let it go considering its her body fighting an infection. I also cant seem to recall at what temperature do you bring them to the doctor or hospital.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. As you state, fever is the sign that the body is fighting off infection. generally speaking, it does not have to be treated. What I typically recommend is that if the child seems ok, I don't treat. if the child is uncomfortable, I do treat. Regarding the doctor: 1-2 days of fever of 103 is reason enough to see your doctor. There is no number on the thermometer, however, that should have you running to the hospital. Always consult with your doctor first.
