What Is The Treatment For Fungal Infection In The Thigh?

I have been experiencing small external rashes on upper thighs. Six months ago I treated for groin fungus and my physician prescribed Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream for the fungus for a two month period - the fungus receded and then reappeared numerous times for 4 months. I began experiencing random intense itching in my arms from shoulders to wrist, under breast areas, upper body sides. My physician prescribed Bethmethasone Dipropionate Clear Liquid but was not to be used for the groin just the itching areas of the arms, breast areas, upper body. I was referred to a dermatologist who indicated the itching was caused by the Clotrimazole cream and ordered me to stop using it. He further prescribed Terabinafine 250 mg for 14 days as an anti-fungal medication. The fungus left and reappeared twice in a 14 day period. The itching continues in the aforementioned areas and the upper neck and sideburn area continue to sting at times. The groin fungus has settled for the last two days after the Terabinafine ended. I have a f/u appt. with the dermatologist in 2 weeks (a one month time lapse since my original appointment). I am a 70 year old Male.

Hi.
As per your case history of fungal infection, my treatment advice is -
1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily.
2. Wear loose clothes and keep your belongings separate to prevent spread of infection to other family members.
3. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on it.
4. Oral itraconazole 200mg once daily can be given for 15 days with oral antihistamine like levocetrizine only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
