What Is The Treatment For Heartburn?

I feel like I am having heartburn but it doest really go up in my throat it just stays like under my rib cage. It happened this morning before I even ate breakfast. Im am a 32 year old woman with no previous heath issue that I know of. It start the other morning at 4am the day before. Is it serious or just somthing an over the counter med could help.
