Have had high blood pressure. Am on meds to lower. Lost 40 lbs and now have low BP. Doc has lowered Benicar and Antenolol to 1/2 doses. Still have low BP. Get dizzy and a bit light headed standing up. Also, my tolerance to alcohol is much lower. What do I do now?
Hi welcome to HCM. Low blood pressure in your case can be managed well with adequate hydration of body with 3-4 liters/day.Use antihypertensives only once a day preferably at bedtime.Avoid excessive strenuous physical activity. In refractory cases drugs like midodrine can be helpful.Elevate the foot end of your bed at nighttime.Consult your cardiologist for further queries. Thank you
