I checked my blood sugar yesterday and hadn t eaten anything in 2 hours and it was 52. I ate dinner and took it and it was then 64. This morning I took my blood sugar and it was 72 45min after eating a meal. I didn t eat anything for 2 hours and tried to test it again and it was back down to 62. Is this something to be concerned about?
Hi..Thanks for using Healthcaremagic the blood sugar values you have mentioned shows a normal fasting blood sugar with decreased after food sugar values. This can happen sometimes.Usually we see these type of blood picture in pre-diabetic patients who has increased insulin resistance. There will be increased amount of insulin in the body than required which causes this problem. You have not mentioned anything about low blood sugar symptoms. You can start regular exercise and take divided meals, don't take too much food at a time .Have food at regular intervals in small quantities .Chances of developing overt diabetes is more common in these type situations.Thank u...
