What Is The Treatment For Massive Bowel Movements In Autistic Children?

Hi my name is Michelle. I have a 13 year old autistic boy who gets bowl issues often, from lots of meds he takes daily. He was in the ER overnight due to a stomach viruses that caused him to flair a winner of an asthma attack on New Year's Eve. They did take a gut X-ray and said he had lots of stool and pockets of liquid but if his fever and white count went down in 12 hours we could leave. We'll, his fever did come down, white count was good & he was able to take his meds by mouth and we did leave the hospital. The day prior to our ER visit he had had a massive bowl movement due to the laxatives he takes on a daily bases. Think he still may have a bowl obstruction?

Hi

Its unlikely to be due to obstruction.
Would suggest you to get Erect X ray abdomen done to rule out obstruction.

Take care

Best regards
