GOOD EVENING, I NEED A PULMONOLOGIST I WILL BE STARTING ON A DAILY DOST OF BREO ELLIPTA IN ADDITION TO MY DAILY DOSE (1X DAILY) OF SPIREVA. I AM SOMEWHAT AFRAID OF THE BREO - BECAUSE IT IS NEW, AND I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE CLINICAL TRIALS. BUT, I AM LESS COMFORTABLE WITH MY MILD COPD THAN I HAVE BEEN FOR A LONG TIME AND MY BREATHING RESULTS HAVE NOT BEEN AS GOOD AS THEY WERE FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS. THA NK YOU JUDY BELFOR
Thanks for your question on HCM. Breo ellipta is having vilanterol and fluticasone furate. Vilanterol is newer long acting beta 2 agonist. And fluticasone is long acting inhaled corticosteroid. And it is very well studied drug and gives very good symptomatic relief in COPD patients. It is long acting so given twice daily. And you can definitely take this with spireva. Also enroll yourself in pulmonary rehabilitation center where chest physiotherapy is available. Also vaccinate yourself with pneumococcal and h.influenzae to prevent future infection.
