What Is The Treatment For Puffy Eyes?

My 11mo old had a green colored goo in the corners of her right eye yesterday. I wiped it out with a warm wash cloth and it would keep occuring. This morning she had it again but, her eye was matted with green. The eye is not red but, it is puffy around the outside. What can I do?

Hello and welcome to health care magic.
The green coloured discharge of mucus from the eye is suggestive of bacterial infection. Not all conjunctivitis need not produce red colouration in the sclera (white portion of eye)
The redness is usually produced by our rubbing of eyes reducing in rupture of small blood vessels or by viral infections.
So my advice is to take the child to an Ophthalmologist and she will give antibiotic eye drops.
Make sure that you wash your hands with soap and water after touching the right eye or it spread to the other eye. Make sure to dip the child's clothes and towels in boiling water as well.
Hope this discussion will be helpful to you.
Thank you.
