What Is The Treatment For Rectal Bleeding?

I'm really scared. I've had blood in my stool or blood while wiping a few times. I went to the doctor and he examined me by pressing on my lower part of the stomach. He also did a fecal occult test, but there wasn't blood that day. He told me to do 2 more fecal occult tests at home but I've not been able to do them because I started my period. Today was the first day I'm off my period and there's a little bit of blood when I wipe. I know I'm going to have to finish the fecal occult test and go back to the doctor, but it's a holiday weekend and I'm freaking out!!! How great of a chance that this is colon cancer?
