What Is The Treatment For Sickness, Diarrhoea, Metallic Taste And Smell?

75year old woman suffering sickness and diaorhea. The sickness is preceeded by a metallic taste and smell. This the fourth time she has had the problem in 4 months. The last time being only 3 weeks ago. Can you give us an idea of what the cause may be and any treatment that we may try.

Hi..

Thanks for contacting HCM for health query.

Patient is an elderly female who has metallic taste in the mouth and diarrhoea four episodes over four months.

Considering the age of the patient I would advice you to take her up for a thorough check up under in person care of a doctor which would include ultrasound scan abdomen,motion complete,endoscopy ,colonoscopy etc.

The problem usually be because of recurrent GI infection or an automatic neuropathy but we should bear in corner of the mind malabsorbtive disorder and cancer.

Till forth give madam soft split probiotic (yogurt) rich food , give her pleasant environment (incase irritable bowel syndrome) it should help.
