hello, i recently went to the hospital for a sore throat. The pain was too sever and did not permit me to swallow food nor liquids. The doctor there said it seems to be viral however he sent me antibiotics and pain medication. My symptoms are swollen tonsils with white patches, sore throat and inflammed gums. Also the roof of my mouth is bright red and has started bleeding.

Don't touch your mouth and throat, brush gently, bleeding should not occur. You can add Betadine gargles every 4 hrly to the regime. Drink plenty of water and frequently. You will be fine.
