What Is The Treatment For Stuffy Nose And Coughing?

Hello, I have been sick for about 2 weeks or so now. Stuffy nose and coughing. I still see yellow in the mucus. When I walk at a fast pace, I feel like I cannot breathe well. When I am at rest after the walk, I will cough up mucus for about 20 minutes or so.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of stuffy nose and coughing which is due to chronic infection of upper respiratory tract and long standing lung infection as well. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get chest X-ray done. You should get pulmonary function test done for to know about the extent of infection. After proper evaluation start treatment. Mast cell stabilizers such as sodium cromoglycate is effective to prevent infection. You should avoid hot, sharp and spicy foods.Treatment should be symptomatic. Till then give child steam inhalation. Apply humidifiers in room. Give vaporizers rub.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
