What Is The Treatment For Swelling And Pain After Ant Bite?

I keep getting bites from tiny red ants, with black rear sections, and the size of the ant, verses the response my body had, makes me believe that I have an allergy to these ants. I get a very swollen area surrounding the bite location, first with itching, followed by pain, and the swelling can last days.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain it seems that due to allergic reaction to the toxin present in ant sting there is formation of a red swollen area..
You should consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and allergic tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now when the reaction occurs you can take anti allergics like benadryl or allegra and also you can apply steroid ointment over the bite site and do cool compresses..
If the reaction that occurs is severe you can get an Immunotherapy done to reduce the severity of the symptoms..
