What Is The Treatment For Thyroid?

I have taken Levothyroxine 100 mg for yrs. went for my blood work June 4th 2014, my dr never said a word about any change in my thyroids. He sent in new precription, changing my dosage to 88mg. I stop by and got a copy of my blood work. My THS read thanks Patsy Cheek

Based on your history the response to your question is as follows.
1. Thyroid requirement varies with physiological condition, weight, age, etc. Your blood work at present in relation to thyroid hormone profile must have indicated low TSH, indicating more suppression or excess thyroxine. Dosage reduction should be done slowly.
2. You might have lost weight, which has made your doctor advise for a course correction.
3. Start with new dosage and get a repeat thyroid hormone profile after 3-4 weeks. If its within the normal range, not to worry. If its abnormal, do meet your doctor for dose correction.
