What Is The Treatment For Vomiting , Migraine And Urinary Inconsistency?

I need to know what medications I take that could cause vomitting and migrains while in the sun. Are there medications I should not take while outside in the sun or heat exposure that cause migraines, loss of bodily functions such as vomitting, no control of unirinating. ect.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that some drugs, which are used in migraine can cause photo sensitivity reactions under the sun exposure.

Common phototoxic drugs include:

-Cholesterol preparations – statins
-Psychiatric and neuroleptic meds - chlorpromazine, flufenazine, perphenazine, thioridizine, thiothixene, tricyclic anti-depressants,
-Promethazine (anti-nauseant)
-NSAIDs (for pain, inflammation)
-Xanax

Triptanes (sumatriptan, rizatriptan) should be used with caution too, because extreme heat can exacerbate their adverse effects.

Anyway, I would recommend avoiding prolonged sun exposure and extreme heat, which could trigger migraine attacks.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best regards,

Dr. Aida
