What Is The Treatment For Vulvar Itching, Bumps Within Labia Majora, And No Discharge?
Hi. I have been breastfeeding my son for the past 2 years, which has resulted in low estrogen and vaginal dryness. This has lead to severe vulvar itching which only improves with olive oil. It is so severe that I am now weaning my baby. I now have developed several bumps/nodules within the labia majora. They are not near the area of the Barthloin cysts (they are more superior, and they range from 1-2 cm each and are intensely itchy). I am really concerned about vulvar cancer. I am not having any discharge, but still I took a fluoconazole just in case of candida infection. It did not help. The intense lesions and quality of the bumps seem more like urticaria. Help.
I would like to rule out possibility of Scabies. Scabies can present with genital papular/nodular itchy lesions
I would advice that you visit a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis. If confirmed to be scabies, single application of 5% permethrin over whole body after a scrub bath for 8 hours/overnight is curative.
An oral antihistamine like hydroxyzine twice or thrice daily will help you with the itch
Vulvar cancer seems unlikely to present with itching.
take care regards
