For the past two or three days I have felt like there is something stuck at the back of my throat; I have the feeling as though a hair or popcorn kernel etc. is stuck. I checked my throat today & was surprised to find a white spot at the back of my mouth & noticed that the side it was on is slightly more swollen that the other side of my mouth. The white spot is located beside my tonsils at the back of my mouth. I have tried removing with a swab, but this hasn't worked so far. I'd like to know what on earth it is!
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain it seems that a white spot at the back of mouth that is not being removed with a cotton swab and giving a feeling of something stuck in throat is a tonsil stone or tonsillolith that is formed due to calcification of food debris that gets accumulated over the tonsils. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and in case if it is a tonsil stone he can remove it using fine tweezers.. You can also limit the formation of tonsil stones by doing regular warm saline gargles.. Gargle with a solution of 1:1 hydrogen peroxide and water.. Always gargle with water after eating anything.. Limit intake of dairy..
Hope this information helps..
