What Is The Window Period For HIV?

Hi
After four weeks that I had unprotected sex with my partner, I took HIV test with ECL method and the result was non-reactive. My partner also took HIV test with ELSIA method and the result was negative.
After two month I got a cold and it took a long time to get better. I went to a doctor and I took a complete blood test ( for finding any infection) as well as urine test. There was no problem in the result.
Now it has passed around one year from my relation and I haven't had any other relation. Two month ago, I got cold again and I haven't got better yet. Is it possible that I have HIV and I have been in the window period until now?

Best regards

Hello
Since one year passed and still you are under pressure of HIV infection.
After 4 weeks , both of you tested for HIV infection and results were good i.e. negative .
Antibodies to HIV begin to appear 2 weeks after primary infection ( after contract with partner ) and the period of time between initial infection and the development of detectable antibodies is RARELY MORE THAN 3 MONTHS (it means window period is from 2 weeks to 3 months , if HIV infection present).
This means you and your partners were negative for HIV infection.
Recurrent throat infection may be due other reasons .
In my opinion consult an E N T specialist and get a throat swab for culture to find out the exact nature of pathogens responsible for throat infection and take complete treatment.
I don't recommend you any test for HIV infection.
Good luck.
