What Kind Of Parasite Is Found In Urine?

45 year old female, height 5', weight 174 with a mental health condition. Recently, we (mother and brother) to her to the gynacologist for a PaP test. The doctor said that he had to see the patient and scheduled an appointment for Oct. 3rd. We called today and told the receptionist that we need to talk to him today. Why? We discovered today, when my sister used the bathroom that the urine contained a live parasite which we have a sample of; It looks like a larvae worm with a clear form and two blacks ends. What kind of parasite is this?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Without seeing urine micriscooically it is difficult to say which parasite present. As far as parasite in urine considered following parasite can be seen, i.e. trichomonas vagibalis, schistosomia etc.According to cause specific treatment given. Urine routine microscopic examination will be beneficial to identify causative parasite of present. Sometime candida fungus also can be seen in urine. Consult physician for examination.
