What Kind Of Recovery Can I Expect After Hysterectomy For Prolapse Uterus And Using Mesh Sling For Bladder?

My Dr is recommending robotic laparoscopic complete hysterectomy for prolapse uterus and also using mesh sling for bladder due to stress and also urge incontinence. What kind of recovery can I expect? Will I be able to attend a conference with meetings about 2 hours long in the day and also 3 hours in the evening? Also, should I be concerned over any risk factors involved concerning the bladder? I am 64 years old., and went into menopause at age 55. I have been on bio-identical hormones for the past 6 months. Should I continue hormones after surgery and if so, for how long? Many questions! Thank you so much!

Hi there thanks for posting your query to HCM
First if all o would suggest you that your doctors knows the best for you .And if your doctor has taken this decision surely it it is in the betterment for youso cheer up
Yes o of course you can expect a good speedy recovery and you will take rest in the first few days following surgery with certain precautions like regarding your diet, removal of the catheter
Ya again I would like to mention not everything can really be perfect
This procedure may accompanied by drawbacks such as injury the certain internal organs , infection etc.
Please do not think that I am trying to scare you notb really
It is just a forewarning .
Once you have recovered you can attend conferences fot the whole day, party do anything there is no restriction
Regarding the mesh sling , dear that is used to keep the bladder in position and is usually an accompaniment of the treatment of prolapse because the ligaments that keep the bladder in position become lax
And regarding the bio identical hormones or the hormone replacement therapy which we call in our language is the decision of the treating gynecologist
Hope you are satisfied dear
All the best for your surgery and wishing a speedy recovery
Take care
