What Kind Of Treatment And Diet Should Be Followed For Vitiligo?

Hi Sir. I am Shivaprakash. I found white patches on my skin and I consult doctors they told me about vitiligo. I started melanocyl solution applying on face. After applying on face it becomes pink and skin burn. Can you please tell me which treatment should I take. and whtat are the food restriction for this.

Hi. Thanks for posting on HCM

Treatment of Vitiligo depends on whether it is focal, segmental or generalised type.

For vitiligo limited to face, i usually ask my patients to either use either a moderately potent steroid cream like fluticasone OR an immunomodulator like Tacrolimus ointment twice daily.

I usually avoid using melanocyl on face because it might cause a burn on face.

Their is no scientific evidence to prove any particular type of food causing vitiligo. Therefore food restrictions are not required.
