What Lead To A Bite Mark On My Chest, Upper Arm And Armpit?

I got bitten by something on Sat. I felt pins and needles sensation at first that was/is followed by extreme itchiness. I have one bite on my chest and 8 or 9 bites on my upper arm and one in the fold of my armpit. The red blotches are getting bigger. I think it happened during the short walk from my driveway into my house. I live in North Carolina. Any idea what bit me?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having insect bite dermatitis.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
