What Leads To Circular Bruise On My Arm?

Hi...I have recently noticed what looks like very circular bruising about the size of a dime on my right arm. It appears to be dark purple on the outer edges and almost no color in center. It is not itchy, non scaly, non bumpy and does not hurt...in fact, had I not noticed it, I wouldn t have known it was there. I also can t see any bite marks so I have ruled out it being a spider bite....within two weeks I have already noticed two bruises but not at the same time...what could it be?

Hi,

You might be suffering from annular erythema. There are many underlying cause of it but in most cases it is self limiting disorder so I would suggest you to wait and watch. In cases which are attributed to bacterial infection doxycycline is the preferred drug. Topical steroid for limited duration can also be used.

Hope it helps. If you have any other question please do not hesitate to contact us.
