Hi.
Burping with
constipation and feeling of food in throat while swallowing can be due to the following reasons:
Burping with throat affection is indicative of a condition called GERD as the stomach contents with acid come in contact with the esophagus and throat.
This can be secondary to the following reasons:
Constipation can cause reflux.
Lower lax esophageal sphincter.
Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation and examination.
Take a
stool softener and laxative as needed so that the motion is passed.
Enema helps best in such a case.
Also take a PPI like Omeprazole or
Pantoprazole to reduce stomach acid.
Domperidone for motility regulation to avoid burps.
Antacids when on empty stomach.
In most of the cases this helps.
If there is no relief with these measures you may need further evaluation under the guidance of a Gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis and an added management as per the findings of
colonoscopy and so on.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
