Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Medical Condition Causes Swelling And Rashes On The Chest, Neck And Face And Irritation In The Throat?
My husband has a red rash on his chest, neck and face with some swelling. He also has a scratchy throat and cough. We think he may have used a bit too much colloidal silver to control a staph infection but aren t sure. He is trying to flush his system but I want to make sure it s nothing more serious.
These symptoms may be present after a viral or infectious condition such as Staphylococcus infection. Also after the consumption of a certain food that the patient may be sensitized or the contact with an extern agent that he may be in contact. This situation could also be caused by a medication that the patient is taking. Colloidal silver might be the cause of the situation. So the cause might be the infection or colloidal silver but the cause is not important for the moment because the treatment is the same. I suggest taking 1-2 antihistamines per day such as fexofenadine or levocetirizine. If the situation persists after the treatment you have to do the further examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Gjustina Loloci, Allergist and Immunologist
