Hello,

There is no specific "medication" solely to lower SGPT and SGOT levels, but treatments depend on treatment of the underlying condition that is causing the elevation. Your father is advised to gradually cut on alcohol. He should join a detox center to successfully quit taking alcohol. At detox centers, the health care professionals will take care of the withdrawal and other symptoms.

Lifestyle changes are helpful to reduce the enzyme levels. He should walk regularly and do exercises. If obese, weight loss is a must, he is advised to maintain healthy weight. He should take home made balanced food. Taking boiled food for 2-3 months will help normalize SGOT and SGPT levels.

He should take healthy diet low in processed foods and saturated fats. He should avoid taking fried food, spicy food, junk food and processed food. He should take food good for the liver. He can take liver tonic. He can continue to take liv 52. Taking Hepazyme or Aristozyme syrup is also helpful. In case he is diabetic he can take Aristozyme capsules, once daily for 15 days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
