The next 3 hours I was on oxygen, but that was no help. ENT came on board and put me in an ambulance. My BP started coming down. after several test and 4 hours later I was released. Hi welcome to HCM. You have high altitude sickness. This can occur in both acclamatized and unacclamatized individuals. This is due to sudden drop in oxygen levels in the inspired air leading to elevation of blood pressure and heart rate.Antihypertensives like enalaprilat is the main stay of treatment in this hypertensive urgency.Since your blood pressure now returned to baseline,i advice you to have a baseline EKG and 2 dimensional echo to assess the cardiac reserve of your heart.Avoid long overhaul travel in near future again.Consult your cardiologist for further queries. Thank you
