What Prognosis Follows When The Repair Of The Lax Esophageal-stomach Junction Is Required?
The endoscopy report suggests that the junction of esophagus with stomacg is lax or loose. The lax or loose junction is not able to function properly. The function of this junction is to prevent bak flow of contents of stomach back into the esophagus. When this back flow occurs, there are symptoms of gastritis or burning sensation. Surgery is required to repair the loose or lax esophageal-stomach junction. Medication will not be able correct this defect. Medication can only provide symptomatic relief to reflux of gastric contents back into esophagus.

What Prognosis Follows When The Repair Of The Lax Esophageal-stomach Junction Is Required?
Hi, Surgery will be the best option. Consult a gastro surgeon and get evaluated. If the condition is mild we can go for laparoscopic or endoscopic repair rather than open procedure. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
