What Relieves Severe Congestion With Nasal Blockage In A 10 Year Old?

My daughter age 10 years has severe congestion and wheezing with nasal blockage and cough. We have given Asthalin nebulisation twice a day for six days and Bricarex Expectorant. She continues to cough severely, though wheezing has reduced. Is it advisable to continue nebulisation?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi. Is there history of similar attack repeatedly? Is there history of allergy or asthma in the family? If yes then the child needs long term plan for its control. I will let you know how to approach if you let me know the details. If this is the only episode then you can continue salbutamol nebulisation till the wheezing is present. Cough will take few more days to respond.
