What Relieves The Pain Due To The Strained Rib Muscles?
I m pretty sure I strained my rib muscles lifting a bike and putting it in the back of a pick-up truck about a week ago It didn t bother me until the next day. It seemed to get better this week while I was on vacation and didn t bother me much. I went back to a partial workout yesterday including cardio (stationary bike & eliptical) for 50 minutes. I didn t lift at all but stretched my legs and used the foam roller for my legs and hips. Today it has hurt more than ever. It is extremely point tender, hurts to take a deep breath, hurts a lot when I lie down on my back, and when I straighten my spine which seems spread my ribs as I straighten out. What should I do?
Take rest for pain due to strained rib muscles. Apply dyno plaster. Do breathing exercise. Avoid weight lifting and forward bending for 2 weeks. Don't do massage.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Prasad, Orthopedic Surgeon
