What Should I Do About A Short Frenulum Causing My Penis To Bend?

Hello, I am an adult of 20 years old. I have a suspicion that my short frenulum is holding my penis from being straight and I want to cut it myself. When my penis gets hard that short frenulum that is around the head seem to hold it from being straight and it s a kind of strangling it. I m writing this to you to ask you for an advice on what to do next?

Hello,

The foreskin may become too tight and be unable to be retracted. This condition is called phimosis. The frenulum does not prevent an erection in this situation. However, if the frenulum is too short or tight (frenulum breve), then that causes discomfort during erections or sexual activity.

It may also cause anxiety or pain. However, phimosis, a medical condition also causes same symptoms. Get clinically examined by a GP / urologist. If phimosis is detected, treatment is done with corticosteroid creams. But you may eventually need surgery if it does not work. Applying the corticosteroid cream directly onto your penis is helpful. Your treating doctor will tell you to stretch the foreskin about two weeks after starting to use corticosteroid cream. You will be told to pull the foreskin back gently, only as far as you can without it hurting.

Keep applying the cream on the areas of your glans. Antibiotics will be prescribed if you have an infection in your foreskin or glans. You may need phimosis surgery if a corticosteroid cream and stretching exercises does not work. This typically involves a circumcision. During a circumcision, they remove the foreskin to completely expose the glans.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
