What Should I Do About Consistent Watery Diarrhea, And Frequent Vomiting Followed By Exhaustion And Sleep?

A week ago on Saturday night, about 5 or 6 hours after eating dinner, my stomach started doing flips, and I ended up spending the entire night doing an evacuation of my bowels. The diarrhea was mostly water and occurred frequently to move everything out. I vommited many times as well. I vommited several times where I only expelled mucus. After the fact, I slept all day Sunday and periodically sipped water. I nibbled crackers Monday and Tuesday, then began eating normally again on Thursday. The problem arising now is that I have eaten plenty the past 2 days and have not been able to pass anything since Tuesday night. What do you think is wrong, what should I do?

Hi,

It sounds like you may have had a gastrointestinal infection, such as viral gastroenteritis or food poisoning, which can cause symptoms like diarrhea and vomiting. It's possible that your lack of bowel movement since Tuesday night could be related to this infection and the subsequent dehydration, which can slow down bowel movements.

However, if you are experiencing abdominal pain, bloating, or have not been able to pass gas, this could be a sign of a more serious issue and you should seek medical attention right away. It's also important to monitor your fluid intake and make sure you are staying hydrated, especially if you are still experiencing diarrhea or vomiting.

In the meantime, you can try to relieve constipation by increasing your fluid intake, eating high-fiber foods, and using over-the-counter laxatives or stool softeners as recommended by your healthcare provider. If your symptoms persist or worsen, it's important to seek medical attention to rule out any underlying conditions that may be causing your symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
