Hello,
Change your dietary habits, take plenty of water and fluids. Avoid taking red meat, and food that causes you
constipation. Take food that is easily digestible. Do not take big meals at a time, take small meals 3-4 times a day. Take fiber rich diet. Take laxatives to help better bowel movement. Take homemade food, avoid spices, fried, hot food. You can take boiled well-cooked food.
Take sitz bath at least twice a day. Apply nitro-glycerine creams to relax anal muscle spasm, you can take pain killers,
Naproxen, one stat when needed. Massaging coconut oil on the anal sphincter multiple times during the day heals and treats anal fissures.
Botox injections also help to relax the associated muscle spasm and relieve pain.
Surgery is only recommended when the symptoms are severe& there is no relief. Recurrence may occur even after surgery. Sphincterotomy is the treatment of choice for chronic anal fissures. Success rate is better according to research and recurrence rate is rare.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
