Hello,
You have not mentioned your age and have not given any medical history of any past illness or disease. Blood pressure is different for everyone as many factors can have an effect on the numbers. Blood pressure increases with age. An average of 120/80 is considered normal. Your BP is a little towards the higher side.
To control your blood pressure naturally, you should avoid taking salty food, limit salt intake and take adequate amount of water (stay hydrated). Take carrots, tomatoes, celery, moringa leaves, spinach, beet, citrus fruits, pumpkin seeds, berries in you regular diet to control your blood pressure naturally. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, sugar,
trans fat, etc. Do regular walking in the morning and evening. If
overweight, loose weight.
Certain heart diseases or developing
cardiovascular disease may cause an increase in BP that may be difficult to control. In that case, get your heart checked, get physically examined by a cardiologist, get all routine cardiac tests,
stress tests, echo, EKG,
urinalysis, X-ray, lipid function tests done. The pathology causing
high BP will be treated and your blood pressure will stay under control.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
