What Should I Do About Intermittent Constipation And Diarrhea Apart From Abdominal Pain When Diagnosed With Gastroenteritis?
I got diagnosed with gAstroenteritis on Thursday, I have had abdominal pain and diarrhoea since Tuesday and it still has not stopped. Today I have had more constipation , and when I have now passed a bowel movement it has still been loose and diarrhoea like. What should I do ?
Gastroenteritis is a common condition that causes inflammation of the digestive tract, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting. It's important to take steps to stay hydrated while experiencing diarrhea and vomiting, as these symptoms can cause dehydration. You should try to drink plenty of fluids, such as water or electrolyte-replacement drinks like Gatorade.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol, as they can worsen dehydration. You can take steps to help manage your symptoms at home. Try to eat small, frequent meals of bland, easily digestible foods such as toast, crackers, and bananas. Avoid spicy or greasy foods, as they can irritate your digestive tract. Additionally, getting plenty of rest can help your body fight off the infection and recover more quickly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
