Hello,
Kidney pain commonly occurs due to
dehydration. Take adequate water and fluids. Medical conditions that can cause kidney pain are
high blood pressure, trauma, infection, kidney injuries, kidney stone,
polycystic kidney disease, acute kidney injuries, kidney stones, cancer, etc. Taking pain killers, hydration,
heat therapy can reduce pain and discomfort.
Get clinically examined by a Urologist/GP, get blood tests, urine tests, imaging tests, biopsy of the kidney tissue, etc. Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made. Symptomatic treatment will be given. End stage kidney treatment is dialysis and
kidney transplant. In the meantime, avoid salty food, low potassium food, limit the protein intake.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
