What Should I Do About Persistent Headaches And Respiratory Issues After Staying In A Room Sprayed With Clorox Despite Antihistamine Use?

We slept in a room sprayed with clorox 360. At ck-in I was affected right away so I asked if our room had been sprayed-they said NO. I had bloodshot eyes, irritated throat, terrible headaches. for the 4 days we were there. I was fine outside of the Hotel. My husband who never comments on anything was struggling with the chemical smell of the comforter. The 3rd day he saw a video playing in the lobby (on a TV that had not been on prior) area showing how they do in fact spray the rooms. They spray the pillows, sheets, comfortors, remotes etc. I can not get the smell out of my nose/lungs. I can t get over the headaches. I actually took antihistamine twice while staying. We were in the room a longer period the last night. What should I do at this point. We left the hotel yesterday 3/13/22.

Hi,

Since you left the hotel, don't worry. The symptoms won't repeat again. Take a paracetamol and another 2 doses of antihistamine to get rid of further complaints.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Grace, General & Family Physician
