What Should I Do About Recurring Itching On My Legs And Hands That Only Temporarily Improves With Cetirizine?

Hi, My skin gets itchy on various parts of legs and hands and when I itch, they get red I take citrizine and itching goes away, however it starts happening again after 48 hrs What to do in such situation? Do I take a regular dose or change the medicine?

Hi,

You may try application of moisturizer on the affected skin. You may try taking a regular course of anti-allergic for some time (May be Cetirizine once daily) and then trying to withdraw it gradually. For symptomatic relief, you may also try local application of low strength steroid cream. If, the problem is not resolved even with these measures, then you are advised to see a dermatologist for this.
