What Should I Do About Redness At The Tip Of My Penis While Taking Amoxiclav?

A few days ago I started taking an antibiotic called co amoxiclav and today when I showered I noticed that the tip of my penis was red , it is not painful, I have read a few things online and it all leads back to the antibiotic causing this, could anyone confirm this if so what should I do

Hi,

It could be balanitis. It can be over-usage of antibiotics, improper or poor personal hygiene, infection, or diabetes. You should get your sugar levels done if it's recurrent. You can use 1% Pimecrolimus cream or Bacitracin cream for local application. You should maintain good personal hygiene. You should do gentle retraction of the foreskin daily n soak in warm water and clean the area. If it doesn't resolve, you can see a urologist.
