What Should I Do For An Infected Scab At The Site Of Piercing Which Was Not Relieved Even After Using Hydrogen Peroxide?
I got my ears pierced when I was 11. I am now 17 and rarely wear earrings. I am getting what seems like an infected scab at the site of the piercing. I ve used hydrogen peroxide on it twice over the span of a week, but I m not sure it s helping. What should I do? Will it go away on its own or should I go see a doctor?
Hi,Dear.Welcome to healthcare magic. Infection at the site of piercing is common.Sometimes it last longer due to mixed infection. You should: 1.Wash your hands before touching your ear lobes. 2.Clean them with rubbing alcohol. 3.Apply oint. NEOSPORIN twice a day on the affected area. 4. Avoid nickel posts, which can cause an allergic reaction with itching and swelling. This can lead to an infection.
