What Should I Do For Extreme Coughing Episodes Inspite Of Tonsil And Adenoid Surgery?

My daughter had her tonsils and adenoids out 12 days ago. She is experiencing extreme coughing episodes to the point of vomiting . This is also her second course of antibiotics since the surgery. She doesn't sleep because she is coughing all night. What should I do?

I have gone through your query regarding severe coughing after adenoid and tonsil surgery in your daughter. She had already taken two courses of antibiotics.

Here I would like to tell you that your doughter really needs a thorough examination of throat and chest to rule out any allergic and infective pathology. It might be possible that she may have some ronchi in chest. Till you are waiting for doctor you may do-

1- Antiseptic gargling.

2- Anti allergic.

3- Take cough sedative syrups or lozenges.
