Hello, Welcome to HCM, Sertraline is used for treatment of major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder and social phobia. Side effect of the drug may cause dry mouth and oesophagitis, because of this you had burning sensation in the throat. As it has led to irritation of the mucosa, I would suggest you to take proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole before taking this medicine. You can try this, it will helps to improve the condition. Thank you.
