Hello,

Sometimes atherosclerosis, which is the main cause of blood vessel blockage is a genetic disease.

This means that there is no way to prevent it, besides following a healthy lifestyle, take blood thinners (aspirin, clopidogrel) and statins (atorvastatin, simvastatin), closely monitor blood pressure diabetes if present.

It is also important avoiding straining physical activity and stressful situations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
