hey i m 17 year old female. When standing up my vision has been going black for a few yars now but recently i have been dizzy through the day aswell... I also get random pains in the abdominal area..... I got my heart rate done today by my dad at home and my pulse was 115 and my heart rate was 80.... I enjoy excersice and i am part of a rowing team and i have been active my whole life.. tennis, soccer, netball etc.. however i am still a little bit chubby around my stomach and thighs..I haven t had a check up for around six years now... I was just wondering if my heart rate and pulse is normal for my lifestyle and age? :/

making it clear both your heart and pulse rate should be the same..if there is a delay then it means your rhythm is not fine..your pulse rate is nothing but your heart rate..get your sugar levels and blood pressure checked..if everything is normal then there is nothing to worry about..have a nice day

Cardiologist, Interventional Dr. Raja Sekhar Varma's  Response
heart rate is the rate at which the heart is beating and is measured by listening to the sounds of the heart with a stethoscope or by ECG. Pulse rate is the rate at which the pulse is felt at different places in the body, commonly at the wrist. The pulse rate can never be higher than the heart rate. However, at times, the heart rate can be higher, as occurs during certain arrhythmias where each heart beat does not translate to a pulse wave.
Your main complaint is postural dizziness. Though there could be many causes, certain corrective measures can be taken. Always keep yourself well hydrated. Drink lots of fluids, and take a little extra salt in the diet. Avoid sudden standing from a lying down position. Jerk your legs a few times in the lying down position, then sit up, dangle your legs down and bend and straighten a few times. Slowly stand up and stamp a few times. You could also consider wearing stockings. If these measures dont help, you should see a physician for further evaluation.
