Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was bitten by a dog over a week ago, one of the canine teeth punctured my left leg on the outside right into the muscle. I ve been on antibiotics, but I have a very hard lump about 2 inches by 1 inch under the area where I was bitten. I wonder if it s scar tissue or something brewing.

What Should I Do If Bitten By A Dog?
Hi, Welcome to HCM! I am so sorry to hear about your problem. First of all, I d strongly advice you to immediately visit a doctor and get anti-rabies injections. I hope you had properly washed the site where he had bitten you. The hard lump you are feeling must be fue to collagen deposition and fibrosis (scar). Again, I d like to remind you about taking anti-rabies vaccination. If you are in pain, make use of pain killers like Diclofenac. Hope this information helps. Wishing you good health. With warm regards, Dr. Sridhar Reddy
